It has been above average hot over the last few weeks all over Italy and this weekend was no exception. Both days were over 90 degrees here in Bergamo. Normally it’s about 75. We jumped from a lovely sunny spring to hot summer in a blink of the eye. So to beat the heat and get a good hike in we drove up to Val Vertova ,which is about a 45 minute drive from Bergamo, hoping that it would be cooler there. We were right! Even though it was 94 in Bergamo on the trail it felt like 80. There was a nice cool breeze that came from the mountain down the river. Perfect. The river was still ice cold but we couldn’t resist putting our feet in.

Those falls are quite spectacular – thanks for sharing your experience and these super photographs! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed visiting your Blog and will be back for more.

Gorgeous!
The heat finally broke last week. I couldn’t believe hot is was in May.
I fear for July and August.
