Four years ago. We were in Venice. It was my first trip to Italy and probably the last time I was going to see the Italian. I had a round trip ticket but his was only one way. After ten days in Italy I was going back to Philadelphia but he was not. I was thrilled to be in Italy and enjoying each day there. I didn’t want to think about the tearful ride to the airport and what my life would be like with out him in it. After a few tough years I was actually happy. I was in a grown up relationship with someone who I loved but like all good things or so I thought it was coming to an end. A pretty nice end if that can be said. I had never had a trip to Italy as a parting gift before. Thankfully I was wrong. The Italian was feeling the same way I was. When he asked me to move to Italy I was shocked, thrilled and terrified but most of all I was in love. When we started this trip I thought that it was the end of our story. I didn’t realize that it was just the beginning.
