I really want to see this movie, but sadly it won’t be coming out in Italy anytime soon. So you will have to see it for me. The screenwriter is a fellow expat here in Italy and she has a fantastic blog too!
Where the wild things are
23 OctI remember as a child sitting in the carpeted bathtub in the Hopkins library with a stack of books. This book was always in the pile. I can’t wait to see it come to life.
Um…..
20 SepAfter living in Italy for over a year and line drying all of our clothes; even in the winter when it takes days for it to dry. I agree that the dryer is a pretty fabulous invention but I am not sure that it superseads the right to vote. All though… I am sure there were a few times last winter when I might have been talked out of my right to vote to get a dryer? Okay , probably not.
Happy Mothers Day
10 MayOn one of my daily walks with Matisse I stumbled on this tree stump and I couldn’t believe it. I had to run back to the house and get my camera. I had never seen a heart shaped tree stump and it got me thinking of one of my favorite books: The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstien. A story of love and sacrifice. Which I think is the story of a Mother and her child. She gives and her children take and don’t realize the sacrifices she is making for them to be happy. Because she never lets them know, she doesn’t want them to know. When they realize just how much she has given, she has already given it all, yet she always seems to have more. Even if its just a place to rest for a while. Happy Mothers day to all the mommies and la mamas and to one mom in particular. Mine. I love you and I miss you everyday.

Change
20 JanToday marks an important day in the history of all Americans. Its the beginning of change and it is the rebirth of hope. Today a stanch republican friend of mine today did something that I never thought he would do. He spoke in support of our new president. A democrat. I only hope that he is one of many. Only when we all come together even with our differences will we ever achieve change.
